I haven’t had all the time that I want to write lately. I’m under tremendous stress at work in a job I hate, so when I’m not at work or job hunting (shh), I’m trying to just relax. My personal life is also crazy for other reasons too, not the least of which was a car accident the other day in which some unfortunate soul decided to just ram her car into mine on the freeway.
But! There have been good things, too.

I saw Brandi Carlile in concert again, too.
I cuddled with a magnum of cava while my friend ... well, anyway.
I’ve had good times with great company this summer, including two amazing concerts, and more fun on the way. Here’s to more fun on the horizon – I need it to retain my sanity! And if you have the chance to see either Jonatha Brooke OR Brandi Carlile this summer, you should certainly do so. Both are amazing artists who make incredible music.

oh, i got to see brandi carlile a few weeks ago – my god, what a performer. i’ll have to check out jonatha brooke, since you have such great taste =)
anyhow, hope things lighten up a bit (and good luck with the job hunt).

kaitlin: I know. Brandi, J-Bro and Alexa make a pretty awesome trifecta. Those concerts have definitely been some of my highlights so far this summer.
lady brett: Brandi IS amazing live, isn’t she? I’m hoping she comes out with a live album sometime soon. Her studio albums don’t begin to capture how great she is, in my opinion.
B: I hope you can see her play sometime soon! I had to travel a bit to see her, so just look for somewhere close. It’s worth it!
Making Space: I’m glad to see you’re catching on with that cooking thing! And yes, check out those other singers – they’re better than unicorns and rainbows.

Nezu: Don’t let anyone give you shit for a drink! Or for anything else, either. Hell, drink a daiquiri with a pink umbrella in it if you want to! Hopefully they’re just giving you a friendly ribbing and not policing you, because that stuff makes me crazy. Who’s to say what’s butch enough, you know? I drink whiskey, I drink vodka on ice, and I can drink anyone under the table. But yes, I drink apricot ale, too.
