Swoon List #4
(Since I think I scared the hell out of most of you with that last deeeeep post, here’s a non-thinking post to help you through your Friday. WARNING: there are lots of italicized words in this post.)
Billy Crudup, you’re an idiot. I mean, duuuuuuude.
For those of you who don’t know, he is the moron who dumped Mary-Louise Parker when she was eight months pregnant with his kid. Seriously? She’s a very talented actress, and also? Smokin’. Sure, she was in Fried Green Tomatoes and Boys on the Side, so she won over the hearts of women everywhere a long time ago, but there has been something about her turn as the divorcee-turned-pot dealer in Weeds that really, REALLY hooked me (although I loved – loved - her in Saved!).
These pictures are all amazing, but there’s something about her smile , her eyes, and her eyebrows (she could get anything she wanted when she does that whole one-eyebrow-raising thing. Just sayin’) that do me in.
Welcome to the Swoon List, Mary-Louise.

I agree – she’s beautiful. I like that last picture… very sexy!
On another note – I have experimented with your question from the last post – “What if you were free of fear?” I put the question up on my facebook and will deliver the results when I get enough answers. I think it was a great post that you wrote. I enjoy the posts that make me think.

2moms: I’m glad you liked the post, and I’m interested to see your answers!

FIRST, you did not scare me with that last post. but, i am so full of fear (generally) i cannot determine what i would do if it were not with me. SO, i am working on feeling less afraid. a slow process to be sure.
SECOND, mlp has been on my crush list since…oh…fried green tomatoes came out and i saw it with my whole family in the movie theatre. i was 13 when it came out (and not in love with any girls yet) and i vehemently maintained that they were in love with each other and my family was like ‘uhh…no way. don’t think so, nope’ but i was completely unconvinced by that. it was totally clear that they were mad for each other. that food fight? please. i don’t go for the feminine as a general rule but she is in my top three exceptions…well i’m not sure i have three. my other that i can think of is kristen scott thomas. oh i guess mary stuart masterson would be the third! but i’m unconvinced by her femininity so maybe she doesn’t count.

FG: So happy to have you stop by. First, I don’t think fear is a BAD thing. I think there are definite reasons we have fear. I just think it’s interesting to see what it does to our thoughts to take fear out of the equation.
Also, it sounds like you were on it when you were 13. I knew something was going on, and I knew I liked it, but I wasn’t quite ready to put two and two together. But hey, still hot! Oh, that Kristin Scott Thomas? I like her.

i agree, she’s fantastic. i love that she looks like she’d be fun, but in a hang out and make fudge and watch movies and laugh until our sides hurt kind of way, not a party-til-you-puke way. like she could be your best-friend. of course, as a girl who’s not into girls, that’s my level of appreciation. *grin* definitely attractive and cool with the queers, gets my vote!

Kimber: Ah, yes. My appreciation for her is a little more than the “Hey, let’s make fudge” variety. Although whatever she’s supposedly baking in that final picture definitely gets my vote.

I’m terrified by you and all your posts, deep or shallow.
Bonus: here’s Mary-Louise Parker playing wingman to a lesbian:

Rebecca: I want people to be afraid of how much they love me, so mission accomplished.

Breasteses!
Sometimes I feel like a 16 year old boy. But I’m really an 18 year old girl. Funny twist of fate.
I like women in bras. Especially MLP in bras.

Lauren: Women in bras are a very good thing. And yes, MLP in a bra is even better. You have wisdom beyond your years.

Yum. Thanks for this. What a thing to wake up to!

Great pics. So what exactly is she doing in the last photo, I wonder–making bread? pizza dough? Whatever it is, she looks good doing it.

SF: Based on the other photos from that shoot, I think it’s a pie crust. But to be honest – and don’t tell anyone – she could be making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, for all I care. Shhh.
October 5th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
Yes, it is most definitely a pie-crust. How do I know this, you ask? Well, I have this *exact same outfit* and it was designed for baking pastry. See, the thing about perfect pastry is that you have to have *cool hands*. By stripping down to a push-up bra and boy-briefs, *everything* (including one’s hands) gets just a little chilly. Hence, the perfect apple pie.
Unfortunately, sometimes when on the verge of hypothermia, one also gets a little giddy. This is why she’s laughing so hard in the photo. Poor girl, she’s probably about to turn blue. Good thing they snapped the pic when they did!!

Kimber: I think you’re probably right on with your theories. I’m glad they got the pic when they did too, for MLP’s sake.

Hmm .. not a fan .. but hottie is.
I prefer more meat on them bones!

dawg,
warms a girl’s heart to hear that. thanks for saying it out loud.
from a femme who’s neither barely-legal (the other common “hottie” theme among some blogs – though not this one!) *nor* a skinny-minnie,
