Swoon List #8

I’ll give you this, Canada. You have some pretty hot women.

There are several that come to mind, but I’m thinking of this one in particular because the recent spate of cold late fall/winter weather has prompted me to dig out all of her music and play it to keep warm. There’s nothing like a quiet dinner, a nice drink and some amazing jazz to help me appreciate a rain or snow storm.

I’ve seen Diana Krall in concert four times now, and each time has been amazing. The most recent time was this summer, when she played here in town at my favorite outdoor venue. Her playing and singing was flawless, as usual, but she also has a great stage presence. She’s kind of surprisingly personable, telling funny personal stories and bantering back and forth the best she can with a crowd of thousands.

I like the whole package: her eyes, her sexy style, her hands (Have you seen her play? And I think we’ve covered how I feel about those), the way she talks. Oh, the way she talks. That voice. Can we talk about it? It’s like warm honey. That’s made of pure gold. With whipped cream on top. And maybe a ham sandwich. Okay, that last part was because I’m hungry and haven’t had lunch yet, but you get the point.

Welcome to the swoon list, Diana.

And in case you haven’t seen or heard her, here’s one of my favorite songs:
